Comparing Databases - Comparison Results

Once the comparison is completed the results of the comparison will display on a new tab on the main panel.

The comparison results window is divided into two main sections. The top section displays the list of all objects that were compared, grouped by object type, indicating for each object the result of the comparison (equal, different, exists only on one of the databases).

By default all the objects are displayed including the ones that are identical, however, a handy context menu allows you to “filter out” objects based on object type or/and based on the result of the comparison.

The bottom section of the results window contains 3 tabs. The “Differences” tab displays, side by side, the scripts of the objects that has been selected in the top section of the results grid in both of the databases being compared. The differences are highlighted using a simple color coding scheme.

Note that the "Make Left as Right" and "Make Right as Left" scripts for an individual object may fail if executed individually rather than as part of the complete synchronization script. Because of dependencies it is often not possible to synchronize an individual object unless the related objects are also included in the script and in the proper order.

The little icon at the bottom right corner of the screen indicates that a schema filer has been applied to the comparison.

Context menu - a wide range of display options and action items are accessible from the context menu (right click) of each section of the comparison results window
